Easy Spa Slippers: crochet pattern

Hello my fellow lovers of yarn & crochet!!! I wanted to share one of my favorite patterns with you all!!! Enjoy!

Size: ladies medium; adjustable length & width
Materials: MC - worsted weight cotton yarn (size 4): 2 oz/60 gms
CC – worsted weight cotton yarn (size 4): less than .5 oz/15 gms
Crochet hook size I/9 (5.5 mm) or size needed for gauge
2 stitch markers
Gauge: 7 sc and 8 rows sc = 2 inches
Special Stitches & Abbreviations:
Ch – chain
Sc – single crochet
Sl st – slip stitch
Dc – double crochet
Beginning at toe:
Note: Beg ch-2 does not count as a stitch in this pattern.

With MC, ch 8; sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 5 ch, 3 sc in last ch; now working on opposite of beg ch, sc in ea ch, working 2 sc in last, join w/sl st to beg sc. (16 sc)

Place markers in center st on each side. (Should be the center st of the 3 sc worked at each side.) Move markers up each rnd.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in same sp, sc to st before 1st marker, 2 sc in next, sc in next, 2 sc in next, sc to st before 2nd marker, 2 sc in next, sc in last, join with sl st to beg sc. (20 sc)
Rnd 3: Repeat Rnd 2 (24 sc) Remove markers. Note: for wide feet you can repeat this rnd, increasing an additional 1 or 2 stitches at each side.
Rnd 4: Ch 2 (does not count as a stitch), dc in same sp and in ea st around; join w/sl st to top of 1st dc – not the ch-2. (24 dc) Repeat Rnd 4 until piece reaches ankle. You can adjust this length to your personal preference as to how much you want the slipper to stretch when wearing. For my foot – US size 7.5 – I worked 8 rounds of dc. Fasten off and weave in ends. (I actually wear a US size 6.5 or 7 so I worked only 7 rounds of DC for mine)
Ankle break and heel:
Flatten piece and mark the center 9 stitches along the opening for the top of the foot. Attach yarn in the 1st st past the left marker. (see picture)
Row 1: Ch 2, dc in same space as beg ch-2, dc in next 14 (leaving 9 center sts unworked – remove markers). Ch 2, turn. (15 dc)
Row 2: Dc in ea st, ch 2, turn.
Rows 3 - 6: Repeat Row 2.
Row 7: Dc in 5 sts, ch 2, turn. (5 dc)
Row 8: Dc in ea st, fasten off leaving a long tail to sew up heel. Sew heel by matching the dc in row 8 to the first 5 stitches of Row 6. Using yarn tail, sew these together and then continue sewing the side edges of Rows 7 & 8 to the remaining unworked sts of Row 6. (will be an “L” shaped seam)
Trim:
Attach CC yarn with sl st at center back. Ch 1, work 2 rounds of sc evenly around the opening.
